The peg tool is funded again. @arcange posted the HBD Stabilizer Renewal R3, and proposal #385 now clears the return line at 12,000 HBD/day — the same Stabilizer that dropped off the funded list in issue #89. The same week @ecency framed ownership for 2026, published six years of creator earnings, and shipped toolkit and “AI-readable blog” posts, while core shipped 1.28.7 with p2p fixes and @gtg already running the new build. Net stake still favored exits: about 2.15 million HIVE powered down versus 161,000 up.
This is HiveToday, a weekly recap of the Hive blockchain ecosystem.
New here? Hive uses delegated proof-of-stake. You elect witnesses to produce blocks. You can post, vote, and tip without paying gas on every click. The chain has been live since March 2020.
Governance flipped a switch that readers felt last week. In #89 the Stabilizer sat below the Decentralized Hive Fund (DHF) return threshold. This week @arcange's R3 renewal is live as funded proposal #385, restoring the 12,000 HBD/day line that buys and sells HBD to defend the peg. Print rate remains zero — the minting pause is still on — so the Stabilizer is the active market tool, not new HBD from the chain. For the debt-ratio mechanics, see issue #75.
Ecency kept the thesis public after last week's funding plea. @ecency argued why owning content matters in 2026; @ecency published six years of Hive creator earnings data; @ecency walked drafts, scheduling, bookmarks, and decks; @ecency pitched Hive blogs as readable by AI agents; @ecency shipped a newcomer week-one guide. Product posts, not silence.
Builders filled the HiveDevs feed. @sagarkothari88 said HiveSuite can now publish to any Hive app, then kept daily nav, exchange-directory, and media polish coming. @beggars shipped HivePredict streaks, badges, a public transparency page, and offline support. @hdev published new HAF analytics and explorer dashboards. @acidyo posted Scrobble members and a Claude DHF subscriptions note. @howo ran core meeting #82. @engrave asked the community to help redesign hiveprojects.io as a decentralized directory — and landed near the top of the reward board doing it.
On games: @splinterlands published a CEO roadmap message. @mydempire turned on a goods economy so factories produce more than EP. @liketu shared a network-value metric for photo sharing growth.
Core node: hive/hive bumped mainnet blockchain version to 1.28.7 and merged p2p fixes that stop punishing honest-but-stale blocks and trim leftover full-block capture on disconnects. Top witness @gtg is already on v1.28.7; most of the top 21 remain on v1.28.3 (Hard Fork 28). No Hard Fork 29 activation.
HAF: Submodule moved to 1.28.7 for release prep; reversible-data cleanup no longer destroys shared-fork blocks too early; serialized data now includes RC transaction cost.
WorkerBee: A Python WorkerBee port landed on GitLab — another language path for builders scripting against Hive.
HiveSense: Slice-mode search paging fixed; scheduler/worker handshake moved to a state-based queue.
3Speak / Snaps stack: Mantequilla-Soft spliced snapie.io Waves into the snaps feed, swapped the GIF picker to Giphy, shipped watch-time tracking and private-mode viewer IDs on the video player, and kept a large July TV/desktop batch moving.
HiveDevs feed: @sagarkothari88 HiveSuite publish-anywhere · @beggars HivePredict · @hdev HAF dashboards · @seattlea curator dashboard · @louis88 bug bounties · @pibara Merg-E 0.3
Ecency: Ownership thesis, six-year earnings data, creator toolkit, AI-readable blog, and a first-week newcomer guide — a full content week after the funding update in #89.
HBD Stabilizer: @arcange R3 renewal — funded again at 12,000 HBD/day as proposal #385.
HiveSuite / HiveReactKit: @sagarkothari88 publish to any Hive app, plus scroll restoration, translation/wallet UX, exchanges directory, and media experience updates across the week.
HivePredict: @beggars streaks, badges, transparency page, offline support.
Keychain: @keychain one more week on the community challenge — topped the weekly reward board (~288 HP).
Engrave / hiveprojects.io: @engrave open design call for a decentralized projects directory (~284 HP).
3Speak: @threespeak encoder network week 27; GitHub TV and snaps feed work continued.
Games: @splinterlands CEO future message · @mydempire goods economy live
Liketu: @liketu network-value growth metric (photo sharing — not a game).
| Metric | This week |
|---|---|
| HIVE price | $0.0495 |
| HIVE market cap | ~$27.9M |
| HBD trading market cap (effective × ~$1) | ~$9.3M |
| CoinGecko rank | #684 |
| 24h / 7d change (HIVE) | −1.49% / −1.87% |
| HBD print rate | 0 (no new HBD minting) |
| HIVE powered up (7d) | 160,603 HIVE |
| HIVE powered down (7d) | 2,148,580 HIVE |
| Net stake flow (7d) | −1,987,977 HIVE |
HBD explained: Hive Backed Dollars (HBD) are the chain's stable token. When too much HBD sits relative to HIVE supply, the chain stops minting new HBD — that is why print rate is zero right now. About 9.3 million HBD counts toward the debt ratio after subtracting the treasury held by @hive.fund. The Stabilizer proposal buys and sells HBD on the open market; it is separate from the minting pause. See issue #75 for the full picture.
Powering up: Seven-day power-downs again dwarfed power-ups (~2.15M vs ~161k HIVE). Top single ups included @khantaimur (~19.9k),
@demotruk (~16.5k), and
@slobberchops (~14.0k).
Witnesses remain on Hard Fork 28. @gtg leads the top 21 on v1.28.7; @good-karma is on v1.28.6; most others still report v1.28.3.
Funded DHF proposals (4 active, above return #0):
| ID | Subject | Daily pay |
|---|---|---|
| #385 | HBD Stabilizer - Renewal R3-2026 | 12,000 HBD |
| #373 | Hive Keychain Development Proposal 2026 | 540 HBD |
| #360 | Hive Dev Proposal #2 | 415 HBD |
| #293 | Hivewatchers & Spaminator Operational | 95 HBD |
Change from last week: Still four funded lines, but the Stabilizer is back via R3 (#385) after falling below the return threshold in #89. @hivewatchers also posted a 10-year anniversary / threat-intelligence proposal update.

This is HiveToday #90. The Stabilizer is funded again; the minting pause is not over — both can be true.
