On the 15th and 16th of August, an incident occurred in Jaranwala, Faisalabad, where the Holy Quran was burned followed by the burning of a church. This case is currently under investigation to determine the culprits responsible for these acts. We firmly believe that a Christian would not burn the Holy Quran due to references to Jesus and Surah Al Imran within it. Additionally, the teachings of Islam emphasize respect for the Holy Books and their followers.
In the time of Hazrat Muhammad (SAW), there was an incident where a Christian was allowed to worship in a Mosque, highlighting the tolerance within Islam. We strongly condemn such incidents in Pakistan. However, we refrain from making conclusive statements until the investigation is completed. Certain elements may be attempting to incite division and defame Pakistan by sowing discord between the Muslim and Christian communities. It is crucial to await the completion of the investigation for a clear understanding. A press conference held yesterday by both the Bishop and Muslim scholars also echoed this sentiment.
