yesterday I ask a question, Why is it that someone will look at a park of cigarette and seeing clearly what is written there, that "smokers are liable to die young" or that "smoking causes lungs cancer" and still smoke regardless..

the fellow was dumbfounded and could not say anything, I just told him humans are psychologically and emotionally wired, we are likely to respond to whatever things that makes us feel in a certain way immediately, most times we live our lives on short term bases, that's why we're likely to do things that brings mediate gratification than longterm benefit.

I grew up wondering why it's easy to do bad things and why it is very hard to do good things even when we know good things are more beneficial in the long run than the bad things which are just temporary.

James clear in his book Atomic Habit said more about Habit mastering, how to develop positive habit through small daily consistent acts, this small daily routine over time will compound there by becoming a habit.

a Habit in it's simplest definition is what has become accustom to our beings almost like doing them is automatic, so whatever it is we do on daily basis can gradually becomes a habit.

how then do we form positive habit even tho it's difficult, meanwhile its super easy to develop bad habits, I'll tell you what...

the human nature is designed in such a way that it's wired for comfort, it just want to relax and be pampered, bad habits are not nurtured they're systems already placed in our lives, so it will required a definite resolution to change the narratives.

it's like deciding to stop smoking, go to the gym everyday, wakes up everyday by 5am, it will require enough self will and determination to stay true to that decision, especially at the starting point or say the first three days.

we know what the result will be, but it's hard to continue doing the things we know because somewhere along the line our natural body will always want to drag us back.

I still recommend "Atomic Habit" to anyone reading this right now, the lesson in that book is mind blowing till today they're still fresh in my mind,

I have truly find out, nothing beat consistency in life, talking about consistency; any thing you're able to do over time continually till you see results or an expectation.

These are one of the best ways to develop, build and groom good habit by placing a positive outcome before you, setting a target, a goal, an achievement to what you want to get, it has to be a strong desired action, you have to make up your mind to do it even when you don't feel like it..

one of the best ways to keep up with good habits is to have an accountability partner , someone who keeps track of your habit with you till the overall goal is achieved.
