In most cases we take full glory when things go so well, and we tend to brag up and down as we want the whole universe to know that things went well because of us, but when it turns bad, we find someone to blame. In that case you will hear things like, I did this because of that or because my mother did this and that.
I can't just place my hands on that part of the Bible that says, "Oh, you man, you are inexcusable." This is to say that anything anyone may feel that makes him take the wrong step, someone somewhere also passed through the same challenge but did something meaningful. It is just the same thing I hear people say up and down: they didn't go to school because their parents refused to train them, but there are some others who, despite not being given the privilege, did their best to train themselves, and today they are in a well-placed position.Coming to the place of lies, there is no justifiable reason why someone should tell a lie.
Casting my mind back to my days in junior secondary school, one day my school sister asked if I should help her get her meat to the class, as she couldn't wait for the sharing. Unfortunately for me, our principal caught me. Due to fear, I wasn't able to express myself properly before the principal. She asked where I was heading to at that time of the day, as it was just a few minutes past 7pm. I said I was going to give the prefect her own.
Well, I blame myself so much, as I wasn't able to mention to the end what I was going to do, so my principal assumed with her full chest that I was going to deliver rice to her. Hmmm, she was expelled and asked to return with a bag of rice. This singular action of not being able to express myself or tell a lie generated much hate. The senior avoided sending me, and I was just left alone. Well, I wasn't trained to tell lies, so I'm not just used to that kind of life. From my training at home, we were taught to tell the truth no matter how bad it seems to be, and this teaching has saved me lots of stress.
I get to wonder how people find it so easy to tell a lie because I believe you that if one lie is told, another has to come after that to cover up the previous, and that's how it will keep on going, and a day will come when you won't be able to tell another lie. Lies do have a way of destroying one's image and reputation, because if one person finds out that I am living in lies, they will find it so difficult to believe what I am saying. There are several times I hear people saying, "When this particular person greets you good morning, just stop and check the time."
When one is known to that point, it becomes so terrible.Nothing at all can justify the fact that it is a lie; giving reasons for telling a lie does not stop it from being a lie. The forgiveness may be gotten, but the impact will still be there. It is just an excuse and should be discouraged in every sense of the word. Some people just want to remain relevant, so when they are even asked about something they know nothing about, they give the answers because they still want to be seen as geniuses. If I don't know, I will tell you I don't know and save myself the stress of later shame and disgrace.
I won't talk much today so let me stop. Thank you for reading through my blog today.
