Screen time is gradually taking up lots of people's being. The addiction created by the introduction of this handset is so much that many times the phone is the first and the last thing we touch most days. This is why many get to fall sick if anything happens to their phone or they don't get to power it up.Unfortunately, I am one of the many people who handle phones so well, and all this started a few years back when I got in contact with blogging. I began monitoring my screen time to be sure that I don't overshoot things, and I discovered that I am not doing so badly.
As a woman with many kids, it also helped me to monitor my screen time because if I am not so careful with my handset or laptop, I will end up losing it because kids don't know the value one places on them. This also makes it so that I do try my best to engage them with things while I have my time.Personally, I can go for more than three hours without my phone. Many times I get seriously engaged with house chores, or I just feel like resting my eyes, and then I keep my phone aside. Always being on the screen increases eye pressure, which may in turn lead to a serious eye defect.
A few weeks back I felt much pressure on my eyes. I was just thinking of visiting an eye clinic, but one thing that slowed my movement was the fact that there is no standard eye clinic here, and I will not want to risk my sight because of my father-in-law's experience. Thankfully, my husband encouraged me to take out some days to rest, which I succumbed to. Do you know I feel much better today? The pain was so much to the point that I was thinking of getting a photochromic eye class to help manage the brightness that gets to my eyes from my gadgets.
It is alarming to see how many people handle phones these days without thinking of the side effects to the body. We think that we engage in productive things like giving, and more is on a good part to a good point, but there are many who all they can do is to access social media platforms, post reels and TikToks, and watch what others have to say. People make money out of their own data while they have nothing to gain.
The most annoying thing is that what they learn is not what will even enlighten them. As a way of recommendation, I feel generally we need to amend the way we use our screens. Find four ways to break the addiction that these gadgets have caused us.
