It is a new week of engagement for all. Everyone do have delight in celebrating their culture because our culture is our heritage. I love my African culture so much because it have a way of keeping one active and am on the ones that are not against my faith.

This post may sound so funny, but let's go that way. I am from the Eastern part of Nigeria. Growing up was so amazing, I grew to be at home with fast songs and the beating. Then when I got to the higher institution I began to be familiar with other genres of songs from other parts of the country.

When the people from the Yoruba part of my country use their talking drum in praise songs, you will feel to just throw away your shoes so you can go down low so well. Now let me talk about my experience with the Gbagyi song when I was pregnant with my first son. A family friend was getting married on the 8th of February that year then I was due and was just waiting for the labour sign so I will have my baby.

Due to the fact that it was my first experience my husband said I should not stress myself to be involved with the plans, then I decided I will be in the wedding atleast for a while before going home to rest. When they started playing some good sounds during the solemnization I was lost, I forgot I was pregnant. In between my husband will come to check on me, then he was like I should try go home so I could rest...ahhh me want to dance so I kept asking him for more time.

Then the reception, if you hear this sound you too will understand what I am talking about, so I bent to give by best and being aware that I was already in my time I was just dancing a checking everything. Towards evening my water broke and I had my baby the next day. When some persons that saw me during the wedding heard it they where surprised.

Why I put my whole heart to dance to good music is because it helps to exercise my body. Exercise is good for the body as it helps stretch the nerves and make sure we are in sound mind. I don't know so much about other nations praise song so much though I am a fan of Western worship songs.

Well, I just hope I have done justice to this week's topic on music. I do wish you a day filled with joy and gladness.
