Witness the difference in quality between a single flat material, and a custom made dual textured landscape. I had to wire up some blueprints to make it work.

Here are the two textured maps and they blend together naturally. Now I can paint Gravel into Grass!

These are those blueprints I mentioned. I am starting to understand how they work but am just following along with tutorials and picking up the skills as I go. I am pretty familiar with Unreal as I have been working with it for almost 3 years now. Back then, I didn't have quite as good a computer.

I decided that I would make 2D games to start, and then work my way towards making 3D and VR. It did not happen right away, and I have much more to learn, but now I am doing it.

I think I have made some good progress today. I created Landscape #3 to replace #1 and #2, and have begun texturing roads and parks to bring substance to my world. I learned more about the Landscape and Foliage modes and for a short while began constructing some AI character maps.

Practicing my landscaping skills, I crafted a place called the Twisted Forest and spend a good amount of time texturing the cliff edges, only to smooth out the entire area and now well its an ongoing piece of art. We all work in our favourite mediums, mine is not paint. It might be PaintNET.

My animated works are going to be great, and it will be more cost effective to build my short film in VR anyways. I want to buy a motion capture suit but my brother points out the simple answer, I can just glue ping pongs to a shirt. I would feel way cooler wearing a mocap suit though and feel it would probably be more accurate. I don't need to worry about that right now-- I am building my city.
