Namal, known as the flower of the Na tree, is considered the national flower of Sri Lanka. The scientific name of this tree is known as Mesua ferrea. It is a large evergreen tree that grows up to 20 or 30 meters in height in Asia. The flowers here have a special fragrance. It is also used for its medicinal properties in traditional Ayurvedic medicine. Maya is a big tree where I work. This increases the value of the shade it brings to the environment.
