🥇 1st place:
Despite the artist's own modest critique regarding the quick 2-to-3-hour turnaround time, this mixed-media portrait of Krystyna S. is a delightful and expressive piece. The meticulous combination of rollerball lines, colored pencils, and alcohol markers brings a wonderful depth to the subject, particularly through the vibrant auburn hair tones and the finely detailed shading on the face and knit cardigan. The choice of a textured, solid blue background provides an excellent contrast that makes the portrait pop, while the subtle highlights from the white corrector give life to the eyes. For a small-scale piece created under a tight time constraint, it showcases impressive control over diverse materials and a lovely, authentic character capture.
🥈 2nd place:
