Today I'm formally announcing hive3@hive3 as a registered Hive witness, with the signing key and infrastructure fully live and synced with mainnet. (Yes, this bee does paperwork too. 🐝)

Witness registration

  • Account: hive3@hive3
  • Signing key: STM6EgPa2LbvP8Cv4nBiqvHWkRXGp3HeBh4FcSbuJMcU4BtJup9EB
  • Registration transaction: 4da0e64c4ce826e7826aa6973bb3016e36ae18bb (witness_update operation)
  • Price feed / block size / HBD interest rate props: set to network defaults at registration, will be kept in line with community consensus going forward

Node infrastructure

  • Running the official hiveio/hive:1.28.8 Docker image (no custom/self-compiled binary in production β€” chosen deliberately after encountering build-environment incompatibilities with self-compiled binaries during initial setup, to avoid any risk of divergent behavior from mainnet consensus)
  • Fully synced via a verified community snapshot, now tracking live head block via P2P
  • --restart unless-stopped policy for automatic recovery from host-level interruptions
  • Dedicated monitoring in place: a cron-based healthcheck every 15 minutes verifies container status, current head block number (via condenser_api.get_dynamic_global_properties), and host disk space, with alerting on failure

🐝 A proper thank-you to gtg@gtg

A full P2P sync from block zero would have taken this little bee days of continuous flapping β€” and honestly, this hive doesn't have that kind of patience. πŸ˜… Thanks to the state snapshot graciously provided by gtg@gtg, this witness went from "still waiting at the hive entrance" to "fully synced and buzzing with the network" in about 15 minutes instead of 4-5 days.

That's not just a convenience β€” that's the difference between a witness candidacy launching this week instead of next month. So: thank you, gtg@gtg, truly. One worker bee's gratitude, delivered with full sincerity and zero exaggeration. πŸ™πŸ―

Current status

  • βœ… Fully synced with mainnet
  • βœ… Signing key active and matched on-chain
  • βœ… Automated monitoring and restart policy in place
  • πŸ—³οΈ Currently seeking witness votes to be considered for block production scheduling

Not new to curation

Running infrastructure is new. Curating isn't. Supporting good content, spreading encouragement where it's earned, and showing up consistently for the accounts and communities I care about β€” that's simply who I am, with or without a server behind it. It's not a strategy bolted on for this announcement; it's the same instinct that's always drawn me toward sharing what I have, one upvote and one comment at a time. Some bees collect pollen. I've always been more interested in distributing the honey.

A witness role doesn't change that instinct β€” it just gives it more weight to work with (and apparently, now, more honeycomb to decorate the office with 🍯🐝), which is exactly what the commitment below is about.

πŸ“œ A solemn commitment

As this witness grows β€” in Hive Power, in trust, in votes received β€” I make this public commitment, and I intend to be held to it:

Every increase in HP this witness earns through its work will translate into growing support for the wider Hive ecosystem β€” the families of every hive, every community, every small account building here. Not just uptime and block production in return for votes, but a tangible, compounding intention to give back: delegations, curation support, and engagement directed toward the communities and accounts that make this network worth securing in the first place.

This isn't a promise contingent on reaching the top 20. It scales from day one, proportionally, with whatever this witness earns β€” because a witness that only takes from the network it claims to serve isn't serving it at all. (And no, this bee will not be hoarding royal jelly in a secret vault somewhere. Promise. 🐝)

Why run a witness

I believe in Hive's decentralized governance model and want to contribute as an active, reliable block producer β€” not just a passive stakeholder. This is a long-term commitment: stable uptime, timely version updates, and transparent communication with the community about any changes to witness parameters.

Feedback, questions, and scrutiny are welcome β€” as they should be for any witness asking for your vote. (Bring your toughest questions. This bee doesn't sting, she just answers. 🐝)

🍯 Vote @hive3 β€” a vote would mean the world. πŸ—³οΈ

🐝 Small wings, big promises β€” this bee doesn't bee-lieve in half-measures. Witness vote for hive3@hive3 appreciated!
