ECOTRAIN QOTW 10.7: ARE ACTIVISTS WHO INCONVENIENCE THE GENERAL PUBLIC JUSTIFIED?
Hello hiveans, what a wonderful Sunday here today, how are you feeling over there? When I saw this topic in ecotrain 3 days ago, I began to think of how activists may inconvenience the general public in my society.
I came up with the idea that this is possible if the activists' message is not clear to the public.
A few days ago, something happened to a lady named Deborah in one of the higher institutions in my county. She was accused of blasphemy because she shared offensive content in her departmental WhatsApp group. Since most of the students were living in the hostel, it was very easy to locate her.
The blasphemy was that she warned her fellow classmates that they shouldn’t be sending unrelated contents to their WhatsApp group, that the WhatsApp group was made for sharing information about the related contents in the department.
This was the reason a group tagged the comment ‘blasphemy’ and went to her and killed her.
They saw her in her hostel and when this group of people started pursuing and beating her, she began to run to the nearest catholic church in her environment. Before reaching the catholic church, she was stoned to death and her body was dragged back to where she was burned.

Because of this comment, many people commented that the activist was so biased.
Looking at the ecotrain question of week 10.7, it is clear that Aisha has inconvenienced some citizens who saw what happened as a normal right thing.
Coming to the general public, you cannot satisfy everybody, even when you're on the right track, fighting for the rights of the citizens, condemning the bad acts and advocating reasonable things; Some people will call such acts unjustified.
There are many activists that have been sent to prison and assassinated throughout the world because they thought such activists inconvenienced the general public.
Especially when it comes to politics, activists have been manipulated, imprisoned and tagged unjustified because the change they are advocating is to the detriment of other people.
My answer to this question is ‘yes and no’. The word ‘inconvenience’ means to cause trouble and chaos.
Activists who caused trouble or chao by his/her words in the society are not justified. Activists are to instill positive change with the right mind without causing any trouble. An activist who makes a decision for selfish interest, or a decision that is not according to the norms of the society is unjustified because such a decision can be inconvenient to the citizens.
In another perspective, positive change is not easily established. There are positive changes that will cause inconvenience to the citizens. For example, our Lord Jesus Christ is the greatest activist who was advocating peace, unity, love, and justice to all people in his region while on earth.
It came to a point that some group of people thought that Jesus Christ was inconveniencing them despite everything he was preaching was peace and love for human beings. He was not selfish or biased in any way; he was blameless and pure.
The people in power and most of the citizens supported that they should kill Jesus Christ who was never blameless in any way. He was caught and killed.
When we look at the scenario, 95% of the citizens were saying Crucify! Crucify!! Crucify!!!
Conclusion, Jesus Christ was seen as someone who inconvenienced citizens despite preaching peace and injecting positive change to the lives of people.
Jesus Christ was a perfect example of an activist who inconvenienced the general public and yet he was justified.
Today, through his justification, Christians are living as an example of Jesus Christ because we believe he is justified.
