Going the distance rule is not new to me; one of my problems with this rule is that I always have to crack my brain to choose the monsters for this battle. I have battled with great players and players with my caliber. I always had dilemma to decide the best monsters for the battle; the reason is that only ranged monsters are available; and using only range monsters requires one to be technical in selection.
There were times I made a wrong decision while selecting monsters in this battle which resulted in my defeat: there were times I made the wrong choices of putting monsters in the wrong positions which resulted in defeat.
Since we cannot longer guess like before when the whole collection power (CP) is shown to the opponent.
When the collection power was shown in those days, it was very easy for me to guess my opponent's lineup; since the opponent's CP could not be viewed, I couldn't make accurate prediction like then.

Players that have a summoner with close range ability enjoyed this type of battle very well.
BEST METHODS TO CONQUER YOUR OPPONENT IN GOING THE DISTANCE RULE
The following methods were used by me most times I came across going the distance rule. These methods are from my experience; it does not mean that the methods are the best, I loved using those methods. They are the following:

By using Quix the Devious: this summoner has the ability to range and speed of the opponent monsters. It is well known that the only monsters available for this rule are range monsters. Hence, by using Quix the Devious, it will reduce the opponent’s monsters range attack which will give you upper edge in the battle; if your opponent uses the same summoner with you, then, your monsters will determine the strong side.
The speed of this summoner is another advantage that gives you an edge.
By using Fernheart: This summoner gives all friendly monsters close range ability. This means that when a range monster is in the first position of the battle, it can attack because of the close-range ability.
Well! If you have this type of summoner and it is available when the rule is given, it is the best summoner to use. You don’t need to overthink the summoner to use when you have fernheart, it is the best summoner to use.
It also depends on the rules that are attached to going the distance rule. Well! There was a day I was given the same ‘going the distance rule’ with noxious fume. The monster i selected was Venari Marksrat, and selected Wave Brood as second monster because I knew that surely Venari Marksrat would be eliminated in the first or second attack from opponent’s monsters. Immediate when it was eliminated, the stats of Wave Brood increased which gave me opportunity to win the battle.
Therefore, using the best tactics to arrange monsters suits this rule most times.
By using General Sloan: General Sloan gives additional range attack to all friendly monsters. There were battles which I was given the ‘Going the distance’ rule’. General Sloan gave me an advantage to win the battle because all my monsters were given additional range attack which made some of my monsters' range attack 3 and 4. Before the first round, I eliminated the first monster in the opponent lineup; by the end of the first round, I eliminated the second monster in opponent lineup. This happened because my range attack was very strong.

⚔️⚔️SUMMONER🔥🔥
Helios Matriarch
Splinter: Dragon
Level: 4⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ability: additional of 1 gladius card
The only what I wanted from this summoner was speed; the speed was very important to this battle; and also gave me to use a dragon monster in this battle which is Naga Assassin.

MONSTERS ARRANGENMET

Wave Brood

Splinter: Epic Water
Level: 1⭐
Abilities: Taunt and Close Range
Wave Brood’s taunt and close-range abilities drove me to use it; the close range enable this monster to attack in the first position; and the taunt ability would have not allowed sneak or snipe monsters to attack any other monster except when it is finally eliminated.

Naga Assassin

Splinter: Dragon
Level: 4⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ability: Backfire
I was very sure that Wave Brood would be eliminated in this battle; Naga Assassin was choosing to replace Wave Brood. The reason I chose this monster in the second position was to:
Delay: the strategy was that I prefer to use Naga Assassin in the second position because its range attack was too small. Therefore, it was a best decision to use Naga Assassin in the second position.

Merdhapir

Splinter: Water
Level: 4⭐⭐⭐⭐
Abilities: Life Leech and Cripple
The main reason for using Merdahpir was to gain more health before leading the attack. It was able to gain 2 health in addition to initial health. The two health was able to help to my winning by delaying.

Water Elemental

Splinter: water
Level: 4⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ability: Healing
My mindset about this battle was that any monster could lead the battle. This made me select Water Elemental as the fourth monster; by the time it leads, the monster would be able to heal itself when it is damaged.
I was lucky that the Axe Master of my opponent mixed the attack which revived my hope when the battle was about to end.
Water Elemental finally eliminated Water Elemental in round 5.

Swamp Spitter

Splinter: Water
Level: 4⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ability: Repair
By the end Water Elemental was finally eliminated in the round 5; Swamp Spitter led the attack. My purpose of using Swamp Spitter in this battle was to keep repairing the armor of any monster that led the attack. Unfortunately, it was not.

Axe Master

Splinter: Water
Level: 1
Ability: Double Strike
The monster attacked from the beginning of the battle to the end.
