Brethren, I welcome you all to yet again another wonderful day in the month of July. Briefly, I would write a short message to us on: "Natural Enemies"
JOHN 9:1-2
1 As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth.
2 His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
The reason for this lesson is to open our eyes to some salient truth that some Christians stylishly shy away fromor should I say ignorantly wish away. For one reason or the other, many have become philosophical about this aspect of life that they feel that by not believing about it will take or void the existence of natural enemies.
Men and brethren, Enemies are everywhere. Natural enemies. The very day a child is born, his enemies too begin their work of destruction on him. Natural enemies hate you for no just reason. Several hundreds of children lost their lives at the time of Jesus birth. These children has not wronged the king. It doesn't matter whether you do good or bad, all they seek is your downfall.
Like some will say philosophically;
"I have wrong no one so no one can harm me"
For verily I say unto you, natural enemies are not interested in your innocency. All they want is your end.
What wrong did Esau do to her mother that made her prefer Esau to Jacob? What wrong did David do? In David's hand was instrument of praise to calm King Saul's spirit but, on the other hand was sword in the hand of Saul to kill David.
Even Paul was not exempted from natural enemies he knew not that vowed to destroy him.
ACTS 23:12-15
12 The next morning some Jews formed a conspiracy and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul.
13 More than forty men were involved in this plot.
14 They went to the chief priests and the elders and said, “We have taken a solemn oath not to eat anything until we have killed Paul.
15 Now then, you and the Sanhedrin petition the commander to bring him before you on the pretext of wanting more accurate information about his case. We are ready to kill him before he gets here.”
Natural enemies are forces against your life. They could be your friends, neighbour, colleagues, or even close reatives that have vowed never to rest until they are done with you.
I pray for you today, that the Lord will arise and fight your battle for you in Jesus' name... (AMEN!)
