I have experienced 17 Genesis Fractal consensus meetings and have a few thoughts on the ranking system.
I had some initial criticisms of Fractally's ranking system in regards to evaluating contributions and assigning rank and thus compensation. I felt it was a bit awkward to rank the skill sets of different members that I myself was not a part of. For example how could I really determine the value of a developer doing code versus another developer working on the front end UI versus an artist versus a translator? I thought to myself, would I want plumbers, electricians, and painters all evaluating each other? Seems a bit odd. However after some experience and after analyzing the rankings posted by Gregory from week to week, I realized that more or less the community seemed to have ranked and organized the members fairly. Ultimately you must overcome this nuanced challenge and just try to be fair with your most honest judgement. I credit randomization of groups to being one of a few critical characteristics that helped ensure this fair enough rank order.
I had an epiphany on the issue of awkwardness mentioned above. Life is uncomfortable. If we were able to lounge in a vibrating recliner all day every day for years and years, what would become of our mental, physical, spiritual state? There is fulfillment to be found in work and there is meaning to be found in overcoming challenges. The healthier things in life require more effort. Its more effort to exercise, its more effort to prep and cook healthy meals, its more effort to do a job right. We all understand the benefits of these extra efforts. I liken the ranking process in fractal consensus meetings in a similar fashion. In fact just like our physical health will in the long term suffer from skipping out on healthy habits so too will our society suffer by skipping out on the fractal process! You cannot eliminate being uncomfortable in life anymore than federal regulators can eliminate risk, you merely defer the consequences to another time and/or another party.
Some people may find fractal meeting uncomfortable at times, so what? You know what I find uncomfortable, how about a 30 trillion dollar deficit? How about violent crime and drugs spiking with no plan of curtailment? How about mask and vaccine nazi's denying me my job and my only source of income providing for my family? A common experience, would a fractal governance community ever deny this man his well deserved Respect!?

Conclusion
Fractal Governance is agile and can adapt to the necessities of We the People engaging in the process. There is never going to be a perfect solution because humans are not perfect. We must advance the best systems we have, having total comfortability is not a prerequisite for moving forward. The situation the FDNY fireman found himself in above, among many other examples, is a disgrace and should motivate all of us to focus on building out Fractal Governance, a necessary tool to build our future!
