I just wanted to put up a quick post to let everyone know that due to a lack of interest I have decided to shutdown SteemSwap.com. I would like to thank the few that did visit the site and post an ad.
I do still feel that there is a huge need for an ebay or craigslist type marketplace, whether it be built on top of the blockchain or independent. I see more and more people using the news feed to sell items and services and that is awesome because it tells me that steemians want to see Steem succeed by looking for ways to expand the currency usage past voting power and selling it for BTC.
I think maybe it's still a little early for a market place style site or perhaps just a admin who has more time to take on this project to do the proper marketing and a more in depth build to incorporate some of the apps that have been created for the Steemit platform like Steempay.io, possibly a 2 of 3 sig account for escrow.
Again I would like to thank everyone for the initial excitement and support and a special thanks again to the few that posted to the site, SteemSwap might return in the future if I can find the time and money to dedicate to doing it right.
