//Scientific Interests//

We might call science a set of ideas that are taught or believed by society. Many think that science holds separate substance to beliefs of other people but this isn’t always the case. As we have seen over the past year, science can also dissolve into belief and political gain when necessary. We can also look at science from a limited perspective and see that those who contribute don’t always do so out of passion or other noble cause. Of course there are many who do embark on the journey of science with commendable intentions and paths. But it’s healthy to also realise that Science is also riddled with those who seek validation and attention in all manners. In short, we should also be aware of the attention seekers that reside in the scientific realm.

//Belief and Facts//

Just because a person uses the term scientific does not mean it is fact. We should be cognizant around the concepts of science and treat them as just that, concepts. Ideas, theories and hypothesis, these are the base to scientific ideas that can always be regarded as right or wrong. Validation does not come without consensus but because science is based on beliefs that are dictated by our own environment, new clues can often warp concepts entirely and even disprove age old science. But science isn’t just about following blind belief either, there are standards in place to ensure a refined approach without reinventing the wheel.

//Remain Open Minded//

Science provides knowledge that can be regarded as fact but again, it is all subjective to our own society and those who believe in them. In this modern day we still see ‘scientific’ approaches that fuel various theories. And again, this is believed by many and regarded as fact. I am not using this post to throw shade at the various groups that engage and signal the validity of concepts, especially using questionable ‘science’. But it’s something that really exists in our world and makes me realise that science is a deep and broad topic, carrying weight when used in discussion. Grounding myself and being able to approach life with an open mind also means I need to be critical of myself and the science around me too.
