Me and Ethan, obviously
As mentioned before, Ethan my golden retriever puppy has incomplete vaccines when I got him and he took an anti-rabies and an anti parvovirus shot at the vet. Today, he has completed his vaccines!
Per usual protocol (or whatever you call it lol), he can't take a bath for 3 days which is fine since he doesn't go out as much anyway.
He also took a tick and flea prevention treatment (in the photo below). The vet explained that ticks and flea can carry a fatal disease that can be transmitted thru a bite. That's a very high risk considering all they can do is bite the host. :o
That treatment is surprisingly expensive for how long it lasts. It's $16 and will only last a month lmao which means it should be done every month wtf. It's optional of course, but I can't risk him getting whatever disease they carry cos the treatment will be 10x more expensive for sure.
Neuter?
I've also discussed with the vet about neutering my dog. I've never had a dog before so I have no idea how they act when they're in heat but I asked friends (and the vet too) and they said they may get noisy and annoying (tryna look for a girl) and I don't want that lol.
He said according to studies, neutered dogs are more likely to live healthier and longer, become bigger, and less aggressive. I don't have plans with breeding him cos it's just such a hassle and I really don't plan on selling babies lol. So this is more likely an option for me.
I also asked the best time to neuter a dog and the vet said when the balls drop which happens usually at 8 months. That's enough time for me to prepare. :D
Adjusting to the new place
My cats and puppy have been adjusting well to the new place. The house I rented is a two-story one and my room is upstairs. The pupper sleeps downstairs while the cats sleep upstairs in my office/second room of the house.
The cats are being impatient and want to go out now lol but I don't allow them yet until they feel at home. Since we just moved, they might get lost cos they might look for the previous house we lived in.. so it's important they feel at home first so they'll know they should come back here.
Do you have any thoughts about neutering dogs?
What their behaviors were before and after neutering?
