This is my entry for Secrets of Organ Playing Contest Week 5: Organ Improvisation Category. The theme of this week is D - Eb- F# - G. These sounds made me to feel like being somewhere in some kind of oasis

Yesterday I've made an experiment with lead acetate and zinc. If you put metalic zinc in lead acetate solution, metalic lead and zinc acetate are formed. In these conditions lead will have shape of bubbles.

This is my entry for Secrets of Organ Playing Improvisation Contest Week 4. The theme of this week is B - C#- D - E. I like to read fantasy books and before this improvization I read one. There was a battle

This is my entry for Secrets of Organ Playing Improvisation Contest Week 3. The theme of this week is Bb - C- D - Eb. Playing with flats is more comfortable for me than playing with sharps... ► Listen

This is my entry for Secrets of Organ Playing Improvisation Contest Week 2. The theme of this week is D - E- F# - G#. For me improvisation with these four pitches was harder than in previous week, because

Here is my improvisation with only four pitches. It was really exciting to do this, because I understood that really beautiful music can be made with so few pitches. Also it wasn't so easy to control myself

Here is another deep blue complex salt solution. The IUPAC name of this salt is potassium tetrathiocyanatocobaltate(II). I've made this complex from cobalt (II) nitrate and potassium thiocyanate solutions.

Here is the chlorophyll solution in methanol and toluene. This chlorophyll is extracted from spinach for experiments. Scientists are trying to make artificial plant leaf which could produce energy,

I took a photo where iodine is dissolved in two different solvents - hexane and water. These solvents doesn't dissolve each other, so they can be in one beaker for better visualization. In this photo the

Ammonium dichromate is sometimes known as "Vesuvian fire", because when pile of this salt is heated exothermic reaction ocurs, which looks like active volcano. Products of this reaction are:

Dichromate ion in acidic conditions is a strong oxidizing agent. It can oxidize alcohols to carboxylic acids (if alcohol is primary) or ketones (if alcohol is secondary). In this video you see reaction

Here is my entry for Pinky And Spiky Drawing Contest - Week #1: Pinky And Spiky Trimming Apple Trees.

In my recent posts I've wrote about iron compounds. Here's one more post about how to determine iron(III) ions in the solution. In the photo you can see a diluted iron(III) chloride solution. Into this

When you pour potassium dichromate solution into lead (II) acetate solution, yellow precipitate forms. This yellow compound is lead (II) dichromate which was used as a pigment for paints. Most of the older

I like to do experiments with iron salts, because it's cheap, doesn't require specific equipment and has low toxicity. One more thing I like about these salts is that they have color, which depends on

Hydrogen is a colorless, odorless, tastelessn, non-toxic, higly combustible diatomic gas. What is interesting about the combustion of hydrogen, that it depends on what is the purity of this gas. If there

Tetraammincopper(II) sulfate is a complex compound which has a dark blue color. The solution of this compound was prepared from copper(II) sulfate and ammonia solutions. First, I've made a solution of

Today I did an experiment to test halogenide ions in solution. I've prepared four solutions of different halogenide salts (potassium iodide, sodium bromide, ammonium chloride and sodium fluoride). Then

Here is the iron(II) sulfate heptahydrate crystals which I made from steel nails. There were some other metals in those nails, so you can see impurities of different color (the green crystals are iron(II)

Today I did some reasearch with yeast cells and saw interesting and actually funny graph. When I saw it at first time it looked like an elephant for me. Of course this graph wasn't that what I was expecting
