No Lambo, but a Donkey

That's how I felt this morning when I woke up. I looked at my portfolio in amazement. Never wise to do that immediately upon waking up, and at first I thought I was seeing it all wrong. Unfortunately, fifteen minutes later it was still about the same. What seemed to increase somewhat two hours after waking up.

Go on with my day

I was tired of looking at a loss all day and decided that if it were to stay that way, I should just accept it for what it was and get on with my day. After all, I had more to do, and couldn't just sit at my PC and spend the day with my eyes glued to the screen. The dogs wanted attention, they needed to get out and they just have to be cleaned up. Regardless of whether I am in a plague because my crypto portfolio melts away like snow in the sun… life goes on.

Turned off the PC

Hmmm, life goes on… so I resolutely turned off the PC, went for a walk with the dogs. That didn't improve my mood much because I got a gigantic downpour over me. The dogs didn't want to go in, of course, but I didn't want to stay outside in the pouring rain, so I had to talk seriously. Eventually they seemed to want to understand what the intention was and we went inside. Not that it immediately made me happier with those wet clothes sticking to my body… but you can't have everything.

Household chores

With three dogs in the house you understand that a vacuum cleaner is working overtime here and that I was forced to make it a hobby. It is either vacuuming and enjoying it, or vacuuming against your will… or not vacuuming but getting an extra layer of insulation under your socks. Then the first option in my humble opinion. Not always fun, but necessary every day. And if you still get the vacuum cleaner through the house, you can also use a wet mop behind it. After that, dusting things off and all this of course goes in the company of 3 dogs who walk in front of me… No, I am not bored at all. They will take care of that!

Check my portfolio

After I cleaned the toilet I couldn't resist the temptation to check my phone. Long live the coinmarketcap app. Uh oh… help… what happened? Ow my god… NOEEEEE! Well, you get it, I was scared blankly. Until then, the damage had been fairly limited, but what I then saw happening before my eyes made me flee back to my PC… and look in despair at my screen where the drama unfolded before my eyes.

HELP!

At that moment I had a very fierce conflict with myself. Was I supposed to sell here and grab what was left, or hope for a turnaround of Bitcoin and the market. This was no longer a 'normal drop', here you could no longer speak of a 'healthy correction', this could really be called a serious crash and with the second that passed I saw my portfolio melt further away. In doubt, what now? What should I do? This can not be true? The bull run should go on for a long time… how is this possible? This can't be just because of an Elon Musk tweet? What is happening?

My hearth in my throat

My brain in overdrive, my heart in my throat, a little trembling on my legs and especially in utter amazement and despair I was thinking what to do. Now what was wisdom on this point? If you see half of your portfolio evaporate, you get quite a shock… but still I did not dare to just decide to sell.

Twitter, YouTube ...

I kept an eye on what was going on via Twitter. Via YouTube I watched the Crypto Banter show and eventually I rationalized a bit, because what advantages did it have for me to sell at the moment? Nothing more was actually my conclusion very quickly. When all profits have evaporated, it no longer makes sense to let your emotions guide you and to participate in a panic sell. Ultimately, the market calms down, and that moment, that's the only time to make further decisions about what to do. But whatever my partner keeps shouting, "No matter how difficult it ever gets, don't sell at a loss." And as strange as it sounds, it is a truth… You only really lost when you decide to sell. So what happens can happen, but I only sell with profit! That's what I made up my mind to do. And yes, of course you can sell for a while to buy back later, but in such a crash when it was going on… you didn't know what the bottom was. And what if the bounce comes right after you sell?

Too late to sell!

When I went to look at it from that perspective, I became more relaxed and happy… and I decided to cancel the lambo and order my donkey. HODL STRONG!

How did you get through today?
