I decided to use Google's SketchUp to try to recreate an easy monument. It took me all morning, but I think it was a productive morning :)
You will recognize the monumental Bab Al-Unaydar gate which I had already talked about here.
Actually it was not as much the conception than the search for the right textures which cost me time. And i'm still trying to understand how to catch the right portion for the right section.
I thought the detail of the door would cost me more but actually it was the most fun to do.
It is worth paying attention to detail because that is what saves you more time in the end.
Sketch up allows you to do like what sculptures did with marble.
I'm sure there is a more efficient manner to build the stairs.
It was a well-employed morning :)
