For the Street Art Contest #305 hosted by @digi-me, I'm sharing a new mural on Café Laurel in Montreal. Last year, Gio Mantis and Maria Antonieta Canfield painted the wall on Coloniale Street. This year, Gio Mantis painted the wall on Duluth Avenue in the same style. It's fair to say it seems to be the same artwork.

Pour le Street Art Contest #305 organisé par @digi-me, je vous propose une nouvelle murale faite sur le Café Laurel à Montréal. L'année dernière, Gio Mantis et Maria Antonieta Canfield avaient peint le mur sur la rue Coloniale. Cette année, Gio Mantis s'est occupée du mur sur l'avenue Duluth dans le même style. Cela dirait que c'est la même oeuvre.

Gio Mantis on Duluth, Montreal

At the corner of Duluth Avenue and Coloniale Street in Montreal. The artwork is on the wall of the Laurel Café. I've never been there because my favorite café in the area is just one block away on Duluth. I'll have to try it someday, though.

Au coin de l'avenue Duluth et de la rue Coloniale à Montréal. L'œuvre se trouve sur le mur du Laurel Café. Je n'y suis jamais allé car mon café préféré dans le coin est juste une rue plus loin sur Duluth. Il faudra quand même que j'essaye un jour.

Gio Mantis aka Giovanna Gonzalez is a Mexican artist, I believe now based in Montreal. She is involved in nature conservation with Somos Axolotl. This collective uses technology and art to raise awareness about environmental issues. Coincidentally, I just finished reading a book about this strange animal that lives only in one lake in Mexico and is threatened with extinction.

Gio Mantis aka Giovanna Gonzalez est une artiste mexicaine, je pense maintenant basée à Montréal. Elle est impliquée dans la protection de la nature avec Somos Axolotl. Ce collectif utilise la Technologie et l'Art pour sensibiliser les gens à la cause environnementale. Coïncidence, je viens de lire un livre sur cet étrange animal qui vit seulement dans un lac au Mexique, qui est menacé d'extinction.

Gio Mantis has managed to maintain the style of the mural he created with Maria Antonieta Canfield, see CCC's Street Art Contest #245, which was also part of the Street Art Contest. The section completed in 2024 can be seen on the left. Meanwhile, on Duluth Avenue, the environmental concerns are reflected in the bird and all the flora surrounding it. Truly beautiful...

Gio Mantis a su garder le style de la murale faite avec Maria Antonieta Canfield, voir CCC's Street Art Contest #245, déjà dans le cadre du Street Art Contest. On peut voir la partie réalisée en 2024 sur la gauche. Tandis que sur l'avenue Duluth on retrouve les préoccupations environnementales avec cet oiseau et tout flore qui l'entoure. Vraiment très beau...
