I have visited Denmark a couple of times this summer and autumn. In addition to everything painted for the "End of the Line" street art festival in August, new works have turned up. This is work by both Danish and international artists. Here are three that are brand new this summer.
A child in a yellow rain coat and rubber boots jumping in a puddle. Surely this child is having fun!
It is one of the most resent paintings in Aalborg. The artist who is behind this work is a Belgian artist named Bart Smeets, also known as Smates. The place is in a district called Øgadene which is a residentioan area close to Karolinelund (where the street art festival took place). I don't know much about the artist, but it certainly is a beautiful mural.
In the center of Aalborg, a this new large mural has appeared. Impressive work that fills the entire end wall. It has been painted by the Australian artist Adnate. This is the first time he is creating a painting in Denmark. This impressive work shows a young woman holding a mask in her hand. It is up to the viewer to interpret whether she is taking the mask off or putting it on. The painting is part of Gallery KIRK's street art project "Out in the Open". This gallery is inviting artists each year to paint the city.
This black and white painting is found in a narrow alley in the oldest part of the city. I don't think it is new, but even I have been walking the area many times I haven't noticed that is is here.
