espoir
Happy weekend friends! I hope you had a great week so far? Had a very amazing one myself, the weather was really nice and calm. Im here again with today’s lesson, a very simple one but very important as we need something to hold on to during these crazy world times of war.
So today’s word is espoir and when we use Espoir when talking it simply means hope. Very easy yeah? And so important as well.
We can use it in so many real life scenarios and it’s very easy to pronounce and understand as well. If you are gonna pronounce this it lil sound like [ès pwa] the last letter R is silent.
Example sentences help reveal how the word is used naturally.
J’ai de l’espoir — I have hope.
Nous gardons espoir — We keep hope.
Est-ce que tu as de l’espoir ? —- do you have hope ?
Hope is one of the most powerful human emotions. It allows people to continue moving forward even when situations are uncertain or difficult thats why we need to learn this important word. Throughout history, societies have experienced wars, economic struggles and moments of uncertainty and I’ll tell you it’s not easy at all! But we have never folded up but instead people continued building, learning and working toward better futures.
That quiet belief that things can improve is what hope represents and I really know that in this our time of war and economic crises there is still hope. Espoir.
So today’s small French lesson carries a larger idea because language teaches vocabulary, but sometimes a single word also carries a reminder about how people face the world.
Espoir reminds us that even in complicated times, hope remains one of the most important things people can hold on to.
