I am not really a big music fan. I usually play songs as a background noise when I am doing something or when I am trying to fall asleep. I remember listening to MYMP a lot when I was younger because my teenage emotions felt like the songs were written for me. LOL. Or to Jonas Brothers because I loooved Camp Rock, and had a big crush on Joe Jonas 🤣 Pre-pandemic, I learned about Ben & Ben, and got hooked with their songs!!! They're really my vibe!
I think it was last year when someone introduced to me a rising PPop Group called, Alamat. I liked their concept, as their group consists of members from the different parts of the Philippines, and their songs include different Filipino languages as well. However, I prefer quiet and mellow songs so I initially found Alamat's debut song quite loud and too lively. 🤣
I moved on with life and kinda forgot about them. But not too long after, I got to watch the MV of their second released single, Kasmala, and man was I amazed. It's so weird because it was still a lively song with rap parts, still, I found myself enjoying it. I was even sooooo amazed with how good they are in dancing, which is unusual for me because I am no dancer nor am I into it. Haha. After watching the MV of that song, I checked their YT Channel and started watching every single video they uploaded. Haha. I pretty enjoyed watching how candid they were in their "daily" vlogs, too.
Long story short, I became a Magiliw, as how they call Alamat's fans/supporters. My interest was hightended when I learned that my teenage niece is also very into PPop groups. Although she likes a different group, it still made me feel like I have someone to journey with. Hahahah
Soon, my niece informed me about the then upcoming PPop Convention. I initially just shrugged it off because it never occured to me to watch online concerts or events. But as the event came nearer and nearer, she continued talking about it, and eventually, we agreed on purchasing a ticket for the online streaming.
This event which happened last April 10 was the very first PPop Convention in the Philippines!!! I honestly am happy that I got to be part of it, even though we were #TeamBahay. Haha. Since the mentioned event included various PPop groups, I decided to listen to the songs of the other groups as well so I'll get to enjoy the concert more. Currently, I am starting to like VXON and BINI as well!

This was when Alamat performed, ABKD. It was so much fun because my toddler niece and preschooler nephew were dancing and singing along, as they also know the said song. Definitely one of my favorite parts of this whole experience.

All in all, it was a fun exprience. It was my first online concert experience, and I am grateful that I got to share the moment with my nieces and nephews. Aaaaaa
There will be another PPop event this coming July at MoA Arena, and Alamat will again be part of it! I really reallyyyy hope I'll get to watch it live this time. Hahaha Fangirling yern? lol
