It is almost Christmas! The season of gift-giving is here, and I felt so happy because one of my colleagues sent me presents for my niece and nephew!
Just a little background: I am a preschool teacher, and as we all know, we do classes from home now. Because of that, there really are moments when the kiddos at home enter my room and check what is happening on my screen. Haha Good thing, the school I am with is very welcoming to families joining the class from time to time. My niece and nephew now know some of my students and co-teahers! It's so cute!
Then last Saturday, my co-teacher messaged me about her presents for the kids. They were both not home that day though, so I was able to give the package to them the following days na.
Morning the next day, M, my niece, went to our room. I was super excited for her so I got up right away and handed her the box. There was a gingerbread man kit inside!
The kit came with 3 pcs of cookies, 3 packs of sprinkles, and a bag of icing. We decorated them together!
First, we spread the icing on the cookie. It was actually my first time to pipe an icing, and it is apparently not as easy as it seems. Well, if you want to just cover the cookie with icing randomly, it's easy peasy. But if you aim to draw on it, it'll be quite challenging. hihi
After putting the icing, we then added the sprinkles! M enjoyed this part soooo much. There was a point when the cookie was already covered with sprinkles. Haha I told her that we needed to add more icing so the sprinkles would stick to the cookie, as the icing served as the glue. She readily responded with an excited, "Okay!" Hahaha.
After some time, M finally agreed to pack away. Here's her final gingerbread man design:
My nephew, Z, came home the next day, and we worked on his cookies after my class. He, too, enjoyed the activity so much! He especially loved eating the sprinkles. Hello, sweet tooth! Haha
I am so happy and grateful for this unique present that were given to my niece and nephew. Sooo, if you are still thinking of what to give the kiddos in your life, you might also want to give them an activity kit!
By the way, I don't know where my colleague bought this kit. I just know that she ordered it from her friend. Hihi
