Hey Steemians. I have been very absent as of late and I just wanted to touch base with y'all to give you some insight as to why, and also to catch up.
Raiden and I went and stayed at our friends' house up by the local hill for a bit and were pretty off the map. We didn't fully prepare, and I left my computer at home. My phone is also pretty much worthless.
None of that would have mattered either way, however, because my first night there I obliterated my hand on their wood stove. They had a party that night following a friend's snowboard banked slalom event, and the pup and I crashed on the innermost of a series of couches. I got up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, a little drunk, still half asleep and in the pitch black, I tripped over something in the dark and well, the rest is pretty obvious.
It looked pretty bad the day it happened, but I wasn't really prepared for how fucked up it really got. I went snowboarding that day and when I took off my mitten, I was pretty shocked. One finger in particular had filled up so much that it was stretching the skin encompassing about 60% of the diameter of my middle finger.
I, of course, decided not to do anything about it and let it grow. And grow it did. Then it got really painful, and I couldn't really bend or straighten it, so everyone thoughts I was constantly giving them the finger.
Eventually the pain got too much and I drained it. It's still a fucking mess. The point is this - I have missed being on Steemit very much and have not disappeared on you all. It's just really difficult to use the computer with one hand. I actually wanted to make this post much longer but it's really annoying typing like this and I'm kind of over it. It's starting to heal though and I will be back soon. For now, I will go back to watching Repo Man.
