Greetings!
Probably the most challenging thing I have ever worked on. A million little problems had to be solved and many skills needed to be learnt but I absolutely love it and enjoyed creating it.
I used a combination of techniques to create a rust effect for the background (I do not have the tools for airbrushing so it was quite interesting to figure out!)
El Wire had to be very carefully woven through the canvas, hot glue was used to build up space behind the wire to make mask stand out more. Reinforced and kept in place after that by hand stitching wire to canvas (the amount of times my fingertips got poked with a needle...)
Glue had to be neatened by using a rotary tool and more patience than I knew I possessed.
Mask background painted in around and under EL wire.
Finally switch rigged so lights activate by touch because i hated the idea of having to flip the painting over to switch it on. (few simple tricks used here.)
Well that's it for now. Till next time!
