I fully understand this as well. Family and relationships with very close friends is very important to me also! When at an old job I worked much longer days and earned extra but it didn't make up for the time lost that I couldn't spend with family and friends.
Seeing my brother have a child as well reinforced how important family is and made me think children are cute. Before my nephew was born I didn't like children that much.
