When my son got diagnosed with t1d, I looked into many diets and supplements. Right now he eats more closely to a keto type diet (seems like there are so many versions out there!) Anyways, for him, that type of eating style has benefitted him most.
Over the years I have eaten different types of diets. I think I’m most for a healthy “balanced diet.” Ok, not your typical balanced diet the mainstream health system advocates, but something closer to the whole30. I’m not even against diary or grains, just against all the processing they do to them. All the pasteurization and adding synthetic vitamins and such. Basically, eat as close to nature as possible.
I’m surprised you have gone without meat for 8 years! And all animal products for 2, over 2? I’ve seen videos of vegans that look terrible after a few years of the diet. Increased aging, extreme weight loss, and just do not look healthy in general. I’m curious if you are doing something different to have not fallen down that same road? You definitely don’t look like those vegans!
