I said it sometime ago here that Twitter gave me the most anxiety amongst all the apps on my device, sadly nothing has changed.
Well except for the fact that the name has changed and it's now X, it's human nature to change so I'll just go with the flow like everyone else. My friend was quick to remind me that most people don't really have a choice though, as almost everyone loves a toxic place these days.
Oh they'll deny it, they'll rant and give all the excuses in the world why X is such a toxic place, but the truth is have you seen anyone leaving?
The answer is most likely NO and do you know why? It's because I know and you know that there's no place like home and there's no place like Twitter, Oh sorry X (my bad, it takes a little getting used to).
If it's not trending on X, then it's probably not worth looking into.
It's not like everything trending on X is factual or real, but like my Nigerian friends will say If skin no full, no put body (if you can't take the heat, don't go near the stove). You need an extra later of tough skin to survive there.
They can easily make the preacher look the fool and the clown look the hero, all it takes is one mistake or savage reply and then you're done for and trending for the next few days.

Let's leave the toxicity for a bit and focus on the man of the moment himself Elon Musk.
Elon is controversial and seems like the kind of guy that enjoys being talked about, it doesn't matter whether its in the positive or the negative light.
Do I love or hate him? I absolutely love him.
You might hate him but he's at least proven one fact, you don't have to be the smartest man in the world to make money, you only have to make sure everyone thinks you're smart.
Just look smart and cool doing whatever it is you're doing and it's a guaranteed money magnet.
It's like this, everyone hates shit and no one likes to take shit. But to sell yours, you just have to convince everyone else that your shit is the sweetest they'll get anywhere in the world.
And that my friends, is the secret why although everyone say they hate twitter, they absolutely love the trolling going on there.
Elon takes over Twitter, 馃う sorry X (well it was still Twitter back then, so I'm technically correct) and says look you'll have to start paying a fee for your verified blue badges.
What happened? There was mass outrage and everyone was crying wolf, many even threatened to leave the app.
I actually found something funny though, everyone screaming wolf were actually doing most of the screaming on the same app Twitter.
Like I said earlier, you can try to be toxic elsewhere, but there's really no place like home.
Another funny one was yet on TwitterNigeria sometime around August, when it was announced users would start getting paid and just like that Elon was once again the man of the people.
Of course there were criterias to these payments and one of them caught my attention which was that this new implementation only applied to verfied users.
The same subscription everyone didn't want to pay for earlier in the year but now no one was screaming wolf anymore.
Nothing like money to keep people quiet. Anyways, whether Elon wants to run X like social media platform or as a business, it's really none of my business at this point.
I don't see myself earning from there any soon, because if I was complaining that X gives me anxiety before, now that money is involved the people who were threatening to leave earlier are now more than determined to stay and devour anyone that stands in their way.
