An Octopus 🐙 Made Mandala / Un Pulpo 🐙 Hecho Mandala - Sea Life Contest

A cordial greeting, friends of this beautiful community. I am still joining the Sea Life initiative, and this is my third work. I found the theme very appealing. I am a bit afraid of the sea but I find its creatures interesting, that's why I felt very encouraged to participate and show something of what I like to do.

Today I want to tell you how I made a beautiful octopus mandala style. This technique is very colorful and that's why I wanted to use it.

A mí el mar me da algo de miedo pero sus criaturas me parecen interesantes, por eso me he sentido muy animada en participar y mostrar algo de lo que me gusta hacer.

Hoy quiero contarles como realicé un hermoso pulpo estilo mándala. Esta técnica es muy colorida y por eso quise hacer uso de ella.

Materials:

• Colors.
• Sheet of white paper.
• Markers.
• Pencil.

Step 1:

We will make the silhouette of the octopus with pencil so that it is clear, then we will pass the black marker all over the silhouette and erase the pencil.

Haremos la silueta del pulpo con lápiz de forma que quede clara, luego pasaremos el marcador negro por toda la silueta y borraremos el lápiz.

Step 2:

We will draw the eyes and the tentacle dividing few parts and making small circles to these we will add fuchsia and red. This way we differentiate to start painting the mandala shapes.

Dibujarémos los ojos y los tentáculo dividiendo pocas partes y haciendo círculos pequeños a estos le agregaremos fucsia y rojo. Así diferenciamos para comenzar a pintar las formas de mandala.

Step 3:

We must always have a starting point. I made a yellow circle and from this I started to draw pointed petals and added small details like dots, half circles and lines.

Siempre debemos tener un punto de partida. Yo hice un círculo amarillo y de este comencé a sacar pétalos puntiagudos y añadí detalles pequeños como puntos, medios círculos y líneas.

Step 4:

We will make more details to the octopus face and draw half circles to all the tentacles.

Paso 4:

Haremos más detalles al rostro del pulpo y dibujarémos medios círculos a todos los tentáculos.

Step 5:

We add pointed petals and in the center we make details, fill with spirals and dots.

Paso 5:

Agregamos pétalos puntiagudos y en el centro hacemos detalles, rellenamos con espirales y puntos.

Step 6:

We paint the whole octopus with different colors but uniformly. I did it this way, but in this type of technique I have seen that they use many colors at random.

Pintamos todo el pulpo con colores diferentes pero uniformemente. Yo lo hice así, pero en este tipo de técnica he visto que usan muchos colores al azar.

Step 7:

We drew a background. With different colors I made corals and seaweed, outlined them with black marker and painted everything blue simulating the ocean.

Paso 7:

Dibujamos un fondo. Con colores diferentes hice corales y algas, las delineé con marcador negro y pinté todo de azul simulando el océano.

I hope you liked this work. It's been a long time since I did a drawing like this. As a teenager I remember drawing a lot, and it's nice to relive a moment like this. I enjoyed it very much.
