Hello Splinterlands Community, for this week the challenge is to show the flexibility in creating team composition with the Broken Arrow ruleset present in the match as it does not allow ranged monsters to be used in the battlefield.
The featured ruleset for this week is Broken Arrows. This ruleset does not allow ranged monsters to be used in the battlefield. It makes melee and magic dealing monsters as well as non-damaged monsters only available in this type of match. In this type of match there are some summoners in the game which are not effective to use such as General Sloan and Contessa L'ament since ranged monsters are not available in the match. The Broken Arrows ruleset requires careful planning in creating the team as there are only two damage options available in the battle which are melee and magic damage, the combination of melee and magic damage team composition could be effective depending on the monsters in the team and if those monsters have an interesting abilities that can give you advantage in the battle.
This is the ranked battle I want to share where I used melee monster team composition to take down the enemy team. If you're interested on the outcome of this match, you can watch the whole action by clicking the battle link below.

I used Tarsa as my summoner for this battle. It is a fire summoner that increases the health and melee damage of all my units at the beginning of the match. The whole team benefits a lot from these buffs as my team is composed of melee monsters which would make them more durable and stronger at the start of the match.
I placed my Antoid Platoon at the first position on this match. It is a very durable unit that deals melee damage to the enemies. It has the Shield ability which reduces the melee and ranged damage it would receive from the enemy team. That ability is very helpful in this match as the enemy team is also composed of melee monsters.
I also used my Tenyii Striker in this battle. It also deals good amount of melee damage to the enemies and has a decent amount of health. This unit has the Sneak ability which makes this monster prioritize the enemy monster that is placed in the last position of the enemy team. This ability is very effective to take down the vulnerable enemy monsters that are placed at the back.
I also used Serpentine Spy in this battle. It deals great amount of melee damage to the enemy team but it does not have a good amount of health. This unit has the Opportunity ability which makes this monster target the enemy monster that has the lowest amount of health. It is very useful in this match as it allows this unit to take down an opponent immediately as this unit also has a good amount of speed.
I also used my gold foil Uraeus in this battle. It also deals melee damage to the enemies and it has an armor which makes this unit a bit durable against melee monsters. This unit also has the Sneak ability just like Tenyii Striker which makes this monster also prioritize the enemy monster that is placed in the last position of the enemy team.
I also used my Battering Ram in this battle. It also deals melee damage to the enemy team and it does not have a decent amount of health. This unit also has the Opportunity ability just like Serpentine Spy which makes this monster also target the enemy monster that has the lowest amount of health. Having two monsters with opportunity ability is valuable as it makes the vulnerable enemy monsters to be taken down immediately in the battle.
Lastly I placed my Scorch Fiend in the last position. It also melee damage to the enemies and also does not have a decent amount of health. This monster does not cost any mana to be used in the battle which makes this monster a good bait against enemy monsters that has the Sneak and Opportunity ability.
During the first round my team was able to take down the opponent's Radiated Scorcher however my Battering Ram and Scorch Fiend was defeated by the enemy team in this round considering that those two units are very vulnerable. My team was able to deal a great amount of damage to opponent's Tenyii Striker which should make that unit very vulnerable in the next round.
During the second round my team was able to take down the opponent's Creeping Ooze and Tenyii Striker while my Uraeus is also defeated by the enemy team in this round. This round was full of action as my team manage to take down two opponents which gives me a number advantage at the end of this round.
During the third round my team was able to take down the opponent's Uraeus which leaves the enemy team with one monster remaining. My Antoid Platoon was taken down at the end of the match which puts my Tenyii Striker at the first position heading in the next round.
During the fourth round my team was able to deal good amount of damage to the opponent's Living Lava while my Tenyii Striker was able to survive the damage coming from that unit. In the fifth and final round my team defeated the opponent's Living Lava which secures me this victory. It was a decent ranked battle for me as I manage to take down the enemy team that almost has the same team that I've built and it is not surprising with the Broken Arrows ruleset present in this match.
