A battle in which a Ranged Attack monster is extremely harmful for your own team and for your allied units. It is important that you understand the rulesets in such a way that you select your monsters according to them.
Because if you misunderstand the ruleset and also make the wrong monster selection then you can suffer a huge loss. Todays 21 mana battle which is considered a low mana battle was very interesting and also confusing.
Because in low mana battles we often face problems in selecting monsters. There are more options but when we keep the ruleset and mana cost in mind a particular difficulty comes into the selection of monsters.
What were the two rulesets in this battle? Which two rulesets came in this battle because of which I adapted my strategy and entered this battle?
FIRE AND REGRET
The first ruleset is Fire and Regret and in this all units whether they are allied units or enemy units get Return Fire.
This means that as soon as the battle starts every unit gets the Return Fire ability. If someone attacks with a Ranged Attack and the hit is successful then 50% of the damage is rounded up and returned to that same unit.
Lets suppose I have a Ranged Attack monster and it hits an enemy unit and its Ranged Attack power is 5. After this successful hit 3 damage is returned to the same monster.
Keeping this ruleset in mind it is important to understand that in such a ruleset selecting Ranged monsters becomes very risky. Rather it is better to avoid Ranged Attackers.
Because only after a successful hit by the Ranged Attacker the damage is returned and applied to that same monster. So instead of a Ranged Attacker I will give more preference to a Melee or Magic Attacker so that it can avoid the effect of this ruleset.
OUTSIDER
The second ruleset is Outsider where you are allowed to summon only one Wild Unit. This means that under this ruleset you can select only one Wild Unit and the rest can be Modern cards.
Therefore it is important to understand that for your Wild Unit you should select your best Melee Attack monster and place it on the front line so that you can get the best and full benefit from this ruleset.
WHAT WAS MY STRATEGY AND MONSTER SELECTION?
Keeping these rulesets in mind my strategy plan was that I would select my Archon Monster with the +1 Magic ability because in this battle I had to give more preference to Magic and Melee Attackers.
Therefore on my front line without any attacker I selected a monster with Armor and Health only as a defense. In the middle position I placed a Melee Attacker that has the Reach ability.
The job of the Reach ability is that it can attack while staying in the second position. And in the end position I selected a Magic Attack monster because I have the Archon with the Magic ability so it would get an additional +1 Magic ability.
This battle was going to continue for ten rounds. As soon as I saw the enemy units and their monster cards in the battle I became quite satisfied with my strategy. And I saw that the Return Fire feature worked in favor of my allied units.
Because the enemy unit selected a Ranged Attacker because of which Return Fire was applied to it. Similarly my Magic Striker showed his full contribution in this battle and because of the overall excellent team combination I got a great victory in this battle.
Therefore all the monsters of enemy units were eliminated while only my front line monster was eliminated.
Today best monster remains my frontline that is Spellmonger, he contiuosly absorbed damage that came from the enemy units and that is how he protected the other allied units.
What is your strategy in such rulesets and which monsters do you give preference to? Will be glad to see your answers in the comment section.
