I have always said that there are no wrong questions on musing, After seeing this question I feel like taking those words back but I am gonna take this question in its best possible interpretation and proceed from there.

Let me first point out first that there are more than one of acquiring skills to earn money, than just at school. Then there is the fact that there are literally hundreds of thousands of women around the world who are far richer than men who get better degrees.

It's not so much as me being biased but rather the fact that this question  is factually incorrect. It has already been proven that both males and  females are on an average equally intelligent. Although there are  studies that suggest different distribution curves for the intelligence  level distribution amongst males and females. Even then these studies  have clearly and explicitly indicated the fact the on an average both  the genders fare pretty much the same on their intelligence levels.

It has been shown that women are less likely to aggressively pursue salary negotiation than men do. It has also been shown that women are less likely to take up jobs with high burn out rates and jobs that are physically dangerous. Not to mention the fact that women would choose to more often prioritize their family over their job. This all has little to do with the intelligence levels of either gender and more likely a result of how the nature has designed the mental makeup of both genders.

I won't deny that this question burns me more than a little. If you would have asked "why did girls do better at school than boys......."  then it might have made some sense. There is a lot of evidence that  suggests boys are falling behind in studies than girls in some developed  countries and even some developing countries. There is also more than  enough proof of the fact the boys are falling behind not because of  their intelligence level but rather their circumstances.

The male population is falling behind in the higher studies area of humanities, arts, social sciences, etc. This has a lot to  do with the fact the fact that men and boys are opting out of higher  studies due to its low level of ROI. The tuition fee are way high and  the chances of acquiring a job based on such degrees are fairly low. You don't necessarily need school (mostly higher education) to teach you the skills that are needed to become rich. Allow me to prove this to you.

For a lot of the people out there (both male and  female) internet has opened doors and avenues that modern education  system simply doesn't. I feel that our education system is now more than  ever focused on quantity than quality and  even now after acquiring  higher education in three different countries my opinion has not  changed. I won't say that this is necessary a bad thing but rather simply the state of things due to overpopulation and lack of funding or motivation for some educational fields. ( I would also like to see the data  and the gender based numbers for the distance education scene as well)

People have taken up internet in its various forms - be it social media, online courses or DIY tutorials. People are learning what they need to earn  money from internet and they are simply avoiding a trap where you learn so that you can get a degree, I have found men in general to be more hands on with the so called 'dirty' practical work and this allows them greater access to becoming inventors or even simply the ability to take a job that is more dangerous.

It would foolish to say that both men and women have the same priorities because our biology forces us to think and act in different ways than each other. This makes us more likely to make decisions that have different consequences for us well. for example a baby boy is more likely to tinker around with his toys and break it apart to see what lies inside it. On the other hand a baby girl is more likely to cherish a toy that she likes in a much different manner.

PS: I feel that it is only fair to mention here that a case can be made  against the absoluteness of the parameters that are used to judge the  intelligence of people. These parameters might be subjective and  restricted to some areas and may not conform at a universal level and be  able document the complete extent of the power of a human mind. No matter the gender.
