With this quote found in an Uptime hack, I couldn't help but notice the following.
Unfortunately, this statement is still closer to the truth than we'd like. Involvement of the patient in decisions is limited, options are hardly elaborated structurally and cognitive bias remains a reciprocal fact.
Both patient and care provider often encounter themselves in the course of counseling and treatment.
And that's okay.
However, it is not okay for the care provider to translate that bias into reports to the outside world, based on his own insecurities.
And that happens more than you think...
