This insect is usually called Praying mantis because of his attitude that often looks like he is praying. The word mantis comes from the Greek word "Mantes" meaning "prophet" or "fortune teller".
Praying mantis has 3 legs, 2 pairs of back legs used for walking while a pair of front legs are useful for catching prey. The front legs are very strong and the largest size with the side of its spiked sharp is useful to grab its prey. Praying mantis are one of the insects that can turn their heads up to 180 degrees.source
The Praying mantis that I found was perched on this wild plant was so young that the thorn on the side of the front leg was not yet visible.
