EOS Network Halts for Several Hours
Just over 24 hours after the EOS mainnet went live, the network halted unexpectedly. According to EOS, the cause of the issue was the way deferred transactions were being handled. As of the time of this writing, BlockOne has issued a fix and the network is live once again.
EOS Account Creation Issues
New users to the EOS network are experiencing issues with account creation. Apparently, a user completely new to the network must have a “creator account” - that is, they are having to find someone with a current account to generate one for them.
Icon Bug Results in Disabling Transfers

Transfers of Icon (IRX) were disabled today by a malicious user exploiting a rather glaring bug in the code: a logical operator was incorrectly specified in a user validation check, resulting in requiring that the user NOT be the wallet address owner in order to complete the transaction. As of the time of this writing, IRX says it has implemented a fix; according to the Reddit post above, the “fix” is essentially a brute-force attempt to outspan the malicious transactions as is not a sustainable solution.
Dept. of Homeland Security Funds Blockchain Initiative

The U.S Department of Homeland Security has awarded a grant of nearly $200,000 to a Texas-based startup with the goal of securing Internet of Things data on the blockchain. The startup, Factom, will work with Customs and Border Patrol on practical applications of their technology.
Paradex Open for Non-U.S. Customers

Cryptocurrency exchange Paradex has re-opened for non-U.S. customers. There is no current ETA for a U.S. re-launch.
Launch: Brave Ads Testing
The Brave Ads Trial Program is live. Test users will be rewarded with a percentage of the fees paid out to advertisers. The test program will send browsing data back to Brave.
