I was tempted to move your character marker, but later decided that although your spirit is free to roam wherever it pleases, the body and it's associated weapons need to remain where they fell so that there is just one place where you can be revived along with your inventory. The spirit is not bound by any rules of the living and will instantly be returned to the body when it is revived.
