Henry was a typical 26-year-old man of the 21st century. He had no girlfriend or friends, but he worked and stayed at home gaming in his leisure time. He was the only son of the wealthy businessman, Richard Wilson. Due to his parents' and societal pressure, Henry was finally convinced to attend a camp for singles. He knew that it would come out as awkward and secluded, but he wanted to make his parents less worried about him. The camp was filled with over 1000 different single young adults ages 18-35. The campsite was located in a rather secluded area in a tropical rainforest.
Many single young adults appeared bitter and melancholic, many of them were in their mid-thirties. Many women had heavy makeup on, with some that avoided all eye contact when looking at the spokesman. Henry bitterly rolled his eyes at them, knowing that they were desperate for attention. Some women were conspicuously unattractive, yet they had makeup on to appear beautiful. As Henry was approaching with, hoping that they had some common sense, they began flirting with him in a priceless manner.
"Gosh, this is going to be great fun!" Henry muttered to himself satirically. "I don't even want a woman, and all those singles must have real issues!"
"Yeah same!" came a voice of a girl with glasses. She appeared to be one of those stem girls who rebelled against marriage for engineering, "my mother was a single mom. So for the sake of her happiness, I'm here on this pricy camp!"
"Honestly, I just want to get out of this place alive!" Henry replied drastically.
"Hehe!" the girl laughed. "I'm Penny by the way, what's your name?"
"I'm Henry, Henry Richards. You probably heard of me before. My father's the famous CEO of Brands!" Henry said in a resentful tone. "I'm their only son."
"Yeah, that must suck!" Penny said with a cute smile.
The bus took for over 5 hours, and the two of them were partners throughout the trip. Penny was benevolent and practical, yet she was not Henry's taste. The two of them remained good friends. Once they were there, they had to form teams to do a scavenger hunt in the forest. Henry was exasperated, thinking that they were treating grown adults like children. He reluctantly decided to work on his own. He pushed past the spokesman and decided to go for a stroll in the rainforest instead. A girl was running behind him, calling out his name in desperation.
As Henry turned around, he saw one of those unattractive yet physically insecure women. She had wrinkles on her forehead despite being in her late twenties, a wide face, and disheveled blonde hair. Henry ignored her by pushing past her. He could still hear her sobbing in the distance. He wondered to himself how insecure someone can be. He slowly realized that he was losing the main track. He could tell by all the complete silence in the area. Usually, he would be hearing the irritating shrieks of the girls in groups, or the laughter of the males when they see a girl watching them.
"Hello?!! Fuck, I'm lost!!" Henry proclaimed in anger. "Curse those idiots out there. Penny isn't she just another one of them?!!"
There was a hive-like building in the distance. He could hear heavy audio of that resembling bees but much louder. He thought it was some sick prank that the campsite was trying to pull on them as he approached it. There was a door to the entrance with a sign that said DO NOT ENTER on it. Henry scoffed to himself and opened the door without sensitivity. He was too astounded at what he saw next that he became petrified. There were working-class bees all around him, both males and females. However, they were not the typical bees he would have seen before.
The upper torso of these creatures was that resembling humans, but the lower torso was that of a bee. The male workers were slightly large than the average human, and the female workers were similar in size to human females. They had wings that also resembled bees. All the female hybrids were mesmerizing, with their dark brown hair cut into long bobs, long, dark eyelashes that flashed as they blinked, and breast that made Henry stop breathing.
Just as he became too over-sensationalized, a male one approached him. He had the typical six-pack and furious look. Henry grimaced, seeing his unfriendly expression. He gesticulated the other two guards, so they took him to the queen.
The queen was also a hybrid to his astonishment because he thought those hybrids were just made by underground science. The queen had long, dark brown hair that was braided into layers, the same long, dark eyelashes that gracefully flashed as he looked at her, and a garment. She appeared hostile and bitter at Henry. He saw the other female working-class bees next to her, all of which had the same appearance. His attention was taken back to the queen bee who clicked her fingers.
"What brings you here to this place?!!" she sharpily asked. "You humans are not meant to see our realm because it is in another existence!"
"Look, I'm sorry if I entered the wrong place. I just want to know how I got here......," Henry replied. "I was meant to be going out on a camp but somehow ended up here!"
"What is this idiot saying? He got lost?" the queen muttered to one of the female working-class.
More female bees began appearing out of what looked like hive-shaped doors. They began whispering with the queen. In the end, they concluded that they were to throw Henry a feast. He was carried by three male working-class bees into a room inside one of the cells. Despite the room being the shape of a hive, there was a single-sized bed with yellow-white quilts. There was a small lamp on a small bedside table alongside a telephone. The male told Henry that if he needed anything, he just needed to use it to call. Henry realized this was just like a hotel for him. Inside a small wardrobe were clothes.
After going through the four finest pairs of track-suit pants and jackets, he decided to go out for the supper. There were over 600 different female bees, all of which looked replicated. The males were also rather resembling, but there were differences between them. Henry wondered how they were able to differentiate each other despite the similar names. As he was walking down the table, many females began whispering among themselves. He noticed that they all had the same eyeshadow on, the golden-red. Despite everyone slowly settling down, Henry felt the queen still perturbed by him.
"Tell us what you know," one of the male working-class bees said. He was sitting closest to the queen, so Henry assumed he was her confidant.
"Oh, I'm a typical software engineer from Tennessee!" Henry said, trying to sound as nonchalant as possible. "I came to this forest alongside the other camp members."
"What was the point of the camp?" one of the female workers asked.
"Oh, it was meant to be a dating camp. Yeah, that was how priceless it was. I went on my own and got lost. Now I need you guys to help me get back!" Henry said, trying to sound as confident as possible.
"Why should we help you?" the queen callously asked. "You humans have done nothing but hunt us down. Now you expect us to help you?!!"
Henry looked around the room, and all of the working class were looking at him in hostility now. The buoyant vibe had suddenly turned grim. They began whispering among themselves again. The female worker that spoke before remained silent. He noticed something was different about her appearance. She had eyeshadow that was pink instead of rose gold. The queen glared right into his eyes despite him trying to avoid eye contact. Henry knew that she was a distrustful woman. The whispers stopped when she winced at them.
"You won't come out of here alive!" the queen said in an almost laughing way. "Our realm is in another space, dimension. The only way you can leave is for us to help you, and by doing that, you'll be paying us back with labor!"
"I..... I'm willing to volunteer if that's what it takes!" Henry said in a rather frustrated manner. "I thought you hybrids might've been more benevolent!"
"You shall start working for us from tomorrow onward. The male workers will tell you what to do. From now until Wednesday after next week, and if you do well, we might be able to help you!" the queen callously said.
As Henry was walking out of the dining hall, he noticed many male workers smirking at him. The female worker that spoke before looked at him from the distance. Her long, black eyelashes flashed in that same way as the others. Henry knew it would be against his nature, but he was developing something for her.
