The shrub grows to a height of 1-1.5 m, forms thickets on forest edges, steppe slopes, in beams and valleys.
The plant gives numerous root offspring and perfectly tolerates the haircut: it is practiced to cut flowering branches into bouquets. The low almond bushes look great in the garden like solitary plants.
