We live in very interesting times. My son is still planning on going to college in the Fall but I have been talking to him lately of the important issues.
My son wanted to be a teacher and coach swimming. He was a great High School Swimmer and has been coaching Summer Leagues for the past five years.
I have begun laying the foundations for him to prepare to pivot.
We are at a unique period of time. Much of the old world that we knew before the Wuahn Virus will never come back. It can not come back. The wave of bankruptcies have just begun.
The way most Americans pay for college is to go into debt. The debt market is collapsing. How will there be any available money to fund colleges.
With the collapse in employment, who is paying the taxes to fund State Governments who subsidize Public Universities?
California has already announced that college campuses will be closed in the Fall. Is anyone willing to PAY for online assignments?
This Spring when my son came home due to the lock down, only one of his professors bothered to post lectures online, only ONE!
The rest of his professors sent emails giving assignments with online tests or papers.
I could do that for FREE!
Here read chapter 1 and identify two characters in War and Peace.
We live in very interesting times and I am trying to spend some time every day preparing for what comes next.
I recently looked on Craigslist just to see who is hiring and what are the jobs.
In my neck of the woods it seems that the number one job is for Tractor Trailer Drivers. The second most available job is for HVAC Techs.
The skills that were needed in the Old World may not be the same in the New World.
Any way what are your thoughts?
Will the Old World come back?
Do we need to start rethinking everything?
Is College Over?
