Once again, I found myself in Charlotte visiting the boy and one of my daughters and her husband. We had gathered together to celebrate the Mrs. 
We went to a place called Optimist Hall which is a hodgepodge of shops and a food court. The added bonus is a taproom operated by the Fonta Flora Brewing of Morganton, NC.
So keeping to the "code" the first brew I had was a kolsch called "Doom Tree". An interesting kolsch with a zest of lemon which made me think of a Mexican Lager. A perfect beer to go along with a cheeseburger and french fries.
The burger was awesome and need to be washed down with another beer.
I went for a light and fresh beer called Lake James Lime, with only 3.8% ABV an excellent choice to finish the day.
The beer is brewed with corn for added sweetness, and lime for a little zest and sea salt to bring out the flavor.
