I want to tell you something. People have a hard time with this. This is because they don't understand it. True unconditional love comes when you are not trying to get something from somebody else. It only comes when you are not trying to use other people or their needs to manipulate them.
Here's what I am saying. If you're using other people to move your boat then stop right now. Don't do it. You don't need it and they don't need it. So forget about it!
As an example, let's say you have this friend. She is very manipulative. She talks to you about everything under the sun. She talks about how great she is. And you think she's so great because she makes you feel so good about yourself!
But wait, something is missing here. She doesn't show you how great she is to you. She doesn't tell you how smart and wonderful she is! She just talks about herself a lot-usually about herself at the drop of a hat!
Why is she doing this? Because she knows if she talks enough about herself, she'll start to feel good about herself. She'll feel like she's the best thing ever to happen to you. She talks about her 'unique' personality, her strengths, weaknesses, and all of the above but she doesn't share anything that's important with you.
It's not like she's trying to make you feel bad. She just doesn't want to share herself with you. She'll act like it doesn't matter to her. But you know better. If she feels bad, she'll stop talking to you and act like it doesn't matter.
Look, if someone is trying to manipulate you, they're not showing you how great they are. They're only trying to manipulate you into doing what they want. They're not sharing anything valuable that's important to you. They just want to make themselves feel better! Don't let them!
Be true to yourself and listen to what's important to you. This means you'll be honest with yourself about what's going on in your life. Listen to your instincts. If something feels wrong, don't keep quiet. Tell her!
She loves to be loved. She wants to be needed. She wants to be understood. She'll tell you when she's not happy. She'll even tell you when she's happy!
Listen to her wholeheartedly without complaining or criticizing. She'll give you feedback when you do things right and even give you a compliment sometimes. She'll listen to you wholeheartedly without dismissing you. She'll hear everything and think about it before saying anything. If she gets upset, she'll let you know!
She can be faithful and true to herself. She'll have no qualms about giving you all she has because she loves you. She'll be there always for you. She'll give you the warmest and best love you've ever known!
If you follow these behaviors and the decisions you make for yourself and live them out religiously each day you will be able to achieve the most out of yourself. When you are able to live up to your best, you are truly living the truth of who you are as opposed to what society tells you is the truth. When you are able to live your life in the truth, you are living the very best you can be! You can be the best you can be! So start now!
