“Why?” He cried out after her.
“I just can’t anymore”
“I don’t understand, can we talk about this please?”
She shook her head. No pity.
Why didn’t he deserve an explanation?
3 week anniversary just passed!
Nice dinner, flowers -
her favorites, he knew from pinterest -
he was so attentive, so nice
He sent her many texts a day,
despite unenthusiastic replies.
He had even cleaned her hairbrush
and kept the extra in his pocket
so that she would always be close to his heart
like an everlasting locket
Love is like a garden and he plowed and sowed, plowed and sowed
Forgetting, or not knowing, to step back and see if things will actually grow.
