Imam Qurtubi says that when the people of the Ash'ari tribe migrated and reached Medina.
So all their supplies of food and drink were gone. So he sent one of his men to the service of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, to make arrangements for our food and drink. When that man reached the door of the Prophet's house, the voice of the Messenger of Allah was heard saying this verse of the Holy Qur'an:
was reciting As soon as he heard this verse, he thought that when Allah Ta'ala has taken responsibility for the sustenance of everyone, then we are human beings and not animals. He will surely provide sustenance for us. He returned from the same and did not tell anything to the Messenger of Allah.
When he reached his colleagues, he said loudly to everyone: Be happy, colleagues, Allah's help is coming.
He should understand that since this person had gone to the Messenger of Allah to make supplication, therefore the Messenger of Allah must have promised to send food. So they happily went about their work. And satisfied.
It was not long before two servants brought a big pot full of meat and bread. Those two servants went away after giving food, everyone was satisfied and ate well, but there was still a lot of food left. They thought that they should send this leftover food back to the service of the Messenger of Allah. So that it can be used in time.
Two men came to the Prophet's service with food and said, O Messenger of Allah, the food you sent was very tasty. When the Prophet heard it, he said that I had not sent any food. A servant said, O Messenger of Allah, we were very hungry. We sent our servant to you in the state of hunger to give us some food. Meanwhile, that person also came and said, O Messenger of Allah! When I came, you said the verse of the Holy Quran:
I was reading, so I thought that the caste which is taking responsibility for the sustenance of animals is also responsible for us. So I left without telling you anything. Then the Messenger of Allah ๏ทบ smiled and said: This sustenance was not sent by me, but by the Allah who is responsible for the sustenance of everything.
