Most preachers narrate this incident that once the water of the river Nile stopped flowing, Hazrat Omar wrote a letter to him, and when that letter was thrown into the river Nile, its water started flowing again. Right?

This incident is well known that when Egypt was conquered, the people said to the commander of the army, Hazrat Amr bin As, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Nile River flows in our country when a young girl at night on the eleventh day of the lunar month. Hazrat Amr ibn As (RA) heard this and replied that this cannot be done in Islam. Wrote a response rak'ah in which this text was written: "In the name of the river Nile by the servant of Allah Umar!" If you flow by yourself, then we definitely do not need you, and if Allah Ta'ala releases you, then I pray to Allah Ta'ala to release you. When this letter was thrown into the river Nile, it rose ten cubits and began to flow. [1]
This incident has also been described in Tafsir Ibn Katheer [2] but this tradition is weak and unacceptable, rather this entire story is baseless and invalid because the one who narrated it is Abdullah bin Lahiyyah, the narrator is Madlis, who narrated it from his teacher Qays bin Hajjaj. Describes
Qays bin Hajjaj is a follower of Tabi who narrates this story from his unknown teacher. However, this story is not proven by a valid document. Preachers should avoid narrating such baseless stories.
