On the authority of Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, he said:
"There were two brothers on the promise of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, so one of them came to the Prophet, peace be upon him, and the other disputed, so the brother of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, disputed He said: May you be provided with it.
There were two brothers in the time of the Prophet. One of them used to serve the Prophet (peace be upon him) (he stayed with him all the time to learn his sayings and actions) and the other used to do some work. The worker complained about his brother to the Prophet. On this he said: "Perhaps because of this you are given sustenance."
[Sunan al-Tirmidhi: 2345, and he said: This hadeeth is good and authentic, and Sahih al-Albani]
◙ Explanation and Benefits:
The working brother complained that he does not cooperate with me in earning and eats with me, upon this the Prophet (ﷺ) consoled him and said: He stays with me to learn religion, he may sleep. May his care and support be a source of sustenance, blessing and ease for you. ### Because: "As long as the servant helps his brother, then Allah also helps him".
[Sahih Muslim: 2699]
Therefore, understand that the sustenance you get from your earnings includes its blessing, so do not belittle your profession.
◈ It should be noted that the second brother did not sit idly, or steal work, he was engaged in the study of religion, so the argument of idleness and work theft cannot be derived from this hadith. This indicates that other families should support and assist those who are in the path of Allah.
◙ Benefits: Some benefits have been deduced by the scholars from the mentioned Hadith:
◈ Religious matters are more important than worldly matters.
◈ A person who devotes himself to the pursuit of knowledge, understanding of religion and propagation of religion with a sincere heart, then Allah will raise someone to free him from financial burdens.
◈ Sincere cooperation with scholars should be considered a privilege.
◈ One of the reasons for obtaining sustenance is the sponsorship of subordinates.
◈ The servant is also blessed with sustenance because of others, as in the hadith:
"Whatever you are helped and what you are provided with is because of your weak people, (i.e. because of their sincere prayers)".
