Yunna was doing matriculation when her parents engaged her to her uncle's son(Sam). She belongs to a poor family, her father was a farmer. She had a dark colour complexion and was a little ugly too.
Sam moved to Dubia for a good job after his engagement, he started earning a handsome amount of money. He kept in touch with Yunna for two years, he used to call her on her father's mobile phone a lot, but gradually he started to reduce the contact.
It was the day when Sam was about to come from Dubia after so long. Yunna was wearing a beautiful black frock. When Sam reached home he told Yunna to come to the rooftop of home. Yunna was so excited, as she was meeting him after so long. But the excited and happy face didn't last for so long.
"Yunna I don't want to marry you" Sam moved toward the main topic without any formalities.
"What are you saying Sam, what just changed your mind" Yunna was confused and started shivering even on summer days.
"Yunna, I don't want to hurt you but you smell so bad, you are so ugly. I feel scared seeing you. How can I spend my whole life with you." He was driving a dagger at Yunna's heart
Yunna who was happy and excited to meet him turned back towards the stairs without saying a single word, her eyes were full of tears but she didn't cry.
Yunna started hating herself for being ugly from the day when Sam broke his engagement with her. She used to stay depressed and spent most of her time in her room.
Sam married his uncle's daughter, his wedding day was a nightmare for Yunna, his bride was very beautiful, just like an angel. They were looking beautiful together, and Yunna was just sitting in the corner.
Well, she cried for weeks and then she started going to university. She was 20 years old and lots of families came to see her for a wedding but then rejected her because of her looks. They all prefer Beauty over character. Every time she got rejected, she started to hate the name of marriage and was always lost in books. Her life was immersed in books, reading, reading and just reading.
A year had passed since Sam's marriage, and it had been a long time since we saw him. Then one day he came to the wedding of Yunna's uncle's son with his wife, both of them looked very beautiful together.
Yunna was wearing a yellow suit. He came towards Yunna and stopped in front of her with his wife. Yunna greeted his wife with a smile.
"Yunna look at my wife, isn't she looks like a fairy" Sam said with a slight smile on his face.
"Yes she is so pretty, nice to meet you" Yunna said while her eyes were full of tears.
"Yunna what colour are you wearing, Yellow? Such colours won't suit dark complications, try to wear some dark colors so they will highlight your dark complexion really less." Sam's wife said with an evil smile on her face.
Yunna looked towards Sam, and Sam laughed so hard and he said, " Oh I just forgot to tell you she has great fashion sense too."
Yunna was not expecting this from Sam, Tears fell from her eyes, and she became silent. His laughing face was annoying her, she cried out loud and ran towards the exit.
Yuna studied day and night and started working hard. Her father supported her a lot. Even if she read all night, her father would stay awake too. Her father used to understand her pain, he was her courage. Yunna started studying law because her father wanted her to become a lawyer.
Yunna passed the exam, and on that day, her mother and father cried a lot. Her mother had distributed sweets in the whole neighbourhood.
After a few days, Sam's parents came to meet Yunna's parents as they were their relatives.
"My daughter is now a lawyer" Yunna's father said proudly to his brother
"Hmm, nice... Being a lawyer is not so difficult at all... But still, congratulations to her. I think people will start liking her when she becomes a judge" Sam's father said and laughed out loud
"Inshallah(If God wills it)" Yunna's voice came from the kitchen.
Yunna started studying to become a judge she wanted to prove herself to others and she was so close to her destination... she worked hard and became a judge.
After three years of practice, she became a civil judge. She got a new house, car and servants. The days of poverty of her family were over.
A few months after becoming a judge, when she was listening to the cases of people a lawyer came to her and said;
" Madam, her husband has beaten her a lot, and she wants to get a divorce."
Yunna looked at her, she was Sam's wife, Sam who had left her after four years of engagement.
He was standing in front of her in the dock with his eyes lowered. How many times has Yunna cried after this breakup? If she had been his companion, she would have been standing here crying for divorce.
Yunna finds someone who cares about the character more than beauty, and she lives the happy life, without any guilt of Sam's rejection.
