This morning, I watched a fire consume a pile of dry leaves, twigs, and discarded waste. The fire seemed simple, yet it made me reflect on how even things deemed useless can still offer value.
The fallen leaves were once part of a tree; the dry twigs once grew and sustained life. Yet, when the time came, they turned into remnants that needed to be cleared away.
Such is life. There are things we once considered important but eventually had to let go. Not everything is meant to be held onto. Sometimes, we need to burn the past not to forget it, but to make room for something new.
The fire also reminded me that change does not always look beautiful. There is smoke, heat, and the sight of things slowly turning to ash. Yet, once it is over, the space is clean and ready for a fresh start.
Perhaps life is much the same. We need not fear losing what is meant to leave. What matters most is the lesson we take from what has passed.
Today, I learned a simple truth: not every ending is a loss. Sometimes, an ending marks the beginning of new space in which to grow.
