... holiday season with a friend and we were talking about how growing up definitely changes the holiday season. It's still the most wonderful time of the year but it can feel hard to recapture that childish magic you felt when you were young. Do you know what I mean? I'm trying to take in the season as much as possible this year but it's definitely difficult when you're so busy with life.

One of my favorite things to do when I was a kid was decorate gingerbread houses. When I was really little we'd buy the kits and just glue the candy on. However, when I got interested in baking everything from scratch I started creating my own templates and doing elaborate gingerbread houses. The most fun part is making everything edible because it's a challenge. Of course, life gets busy as we all know. That's why I'm just gonna have to settle sharing a throwback gingerbread house since, unfortunately, I haven't had the time this year.
